As the countdown to Futurebuild Australia 2026 begins, we’re spotlighting exhibitor Masswood. Read on to discover their current design trends, and what you can expect to find at their stand.

Can you give us a brief introduction to your brand?

Masswood is an Australian timber manufacturer dedicated to discovering timber’s true potential. Through our passion for innovation, craftsmanship and sustainability, we create high-performance timber solutions that combine natural beauty, durability and versatility. Our products help architects, builders and designers bring more sustainable materials into the built environment, supporting projects that are designed to endure, inspire and perform.

What differentiates your brand from other competitors in the market?

What sets Masswood apart is our ability to combine advanced timber technology with Australian manufacturing expertise. Our Accoya range represents an investment in longevity, sustainability and performance, offering architects, builders and designers a timber solution that is exceptionally durable, stable and suited to Australia’s demanding climate.

As one of the world’s leading modified timbers, Accoya is known for its outstanding dimensional stability, resistance to decay and long service life. It is also non-toxic, sustainably sourced and 100% recyclable, making it a responsible alternative to aluminium and composite products. While many materials attempt to replicate the look of timber, nothing truly compares to the warmth, beauty and environmental value of a real timber product.

Masswood has taken the performance qualities of Accoya and developed a versatile product range across Decking, Cladding, Battens and Glulam solutions. Beyond the material itself, our strength lies in how we work with it. We offer custom profiles, textured finishes and in-house coating, allowing us to deliver tailored Accoya solutions with greater quality control, design flexibility and long-term performance.

Are there any exciting trends that you are seeing in the world of design this year?

One of the most exciting trends we’re seeing is a renewed appreciation for real, natural materials — particularly timber. Architects, designers and homeowners are increasingly looking for products that not only look beautiful, but also have a lower environmental impact, are non-toxic, and support healthier, more sustainable spaces.

There is also a strong movement towards biophilic design and creating a deeper connection between the built environment and the natural world. Timber plays an important role in this, bringing warmth, texture and authenticity in a way that manufactured alternatives often try to replicate, but can never truly replace.

In exterior design, we’re seeing continued demand for textured finishes and build ready timber products that offer both durability, design flexibility and stand the test of time. Colour trends are also moving in two clear directions: bold black and charcoal tones for striking architectural contrast, and warm, coastal, earthy tones that create a softer and more natural aesthetic.

What can our visitors expect to see and experience on your stand at Future Build? Any new launches?

Visitors to the Masswood stand can expect to experience the beauty, versatility and performance of Accoya up close. We’ll be showcasing our range of Accoya decking, cladding and batten solutions, along with an in-house designed and manufactured Accoya glulam table that demonstrates the structural and design potential of this remarkable timber.

We’re also excited to launch our new Castellated Cladding and Secret Nail Shiplap Cladding profiles, as well as our new Architectural Colour Range. These new additions have been developed to give architects, designers and builders greater design flexibility while still delivering the durability, stability and low-maintenance performance Accoya is known for.

Our stand will also be an opportunity for visitors to learn more about Accoya itself — the technology behind it, why it performs so well in demanding environments, and how it can be used as a genuine timber alternative to aluminium, composite and traditional hardwood products. It’s a chance to see, touch and explore real timber solutions designed for long-term, sustainable performance.

What are you looking forward to the most at Futurebuild Australia 2026?

We’re most looking forward to connecting with architects, builders, designers and industry professionals who are passionate about creating more sustainable, design-led spaces.

Future Build is a great opportunity to have meaningful conversations about material choices, performance and the future of timber in the built environment. We’re excited to share what makes Accoya such a remarkable product, showcase the versatility of our range, and inspire visitors to think differently about how real timber can be used in both structural and architectural applications.

For Masswood, it’s also about listening — understanding what designers and builders are looking for, exploring new ideas, and continuing to collaborate on timber solutions that are beautiful, durable and better for the environment.
