FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The state’s first major trade exhibition and conference dedicated to the design, construction and property development industry arrives at exactly the right moment – as Queensland’s building boom enters its most powerful phase yet.
Brisbane, Australia (15 April 2026) – National Media, the organisers behind leading industry events including Design Show Australia, Kitchen+Bath Show, and Futurebuild Australia, today announced the launch of Futurebuild Queensland, a new trade exhibition and conference dedicated to the state’s design, construction and property development industries.
The inaugural event will take place 10-11 March 2027 at the Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre, bringing together thousands of professionals involved in planning, designing, specifying, supplying and delivering residential, community and commercial projects across the region. The event will create a platform to forge new connections, explore solutions and accelerate the ideas shaping the future of construction in Queensland.
A Milestone for Queensland’s Industry
Despite being home to one of Australia’s most active and fast-growing construction markets, Queensland has no dedicated event of this scale to bring its built environment community together. Futurebuild Queensland will give the state’s design, construction and property development community, and the broader building industry supply chain a world-class platform to connect, learn and do business, one that reflects both the scale of Queensland’s ambition and the industry’s appetite for what comes next.
The Engine Room of Australian Construction
Rapid population growth and strong interstate migration are driving sustained demand for housing across South East Queensland, the Sunshine Coast, and the Gold Coast corridor. Major residential development pipelines in growth areas are expected to deliver tens of thousands of new homes, a scale of work that will take nearly a decade to complete. The residential market alone is absorbing tens of thousands of new dwellings each year, spanning detached housing, townhouses, and high-density apartment towers.
Simultaneously, preparations for the Brisbane 2032 Olympic and Paralympic Games are accelerating investment in venues, transport infrastructure, and inner-city redevelopment. This, alongside ongoing expansion across health, education, retail, aged care, and commercial property, is creating deep and diversified demand for new ideas, suppliers, and partnerships across the entire industry. Together, these forces are reshaping Queensland’s construction landscape and setting the stage for a once-in-a-generation boom.
“Queensland’s building industry is producing some of the most exciting work in the country right now, and the people driving that work deserve an event that reflects their ambition,” said Ash North, Event Director. “Futurebuild Queensland has been designed from the ground up to serve this market – its conditions, its supply chains, and the scale of the opportunity in front of it.”
What to Expect
Futurebuild Queensland will bring the full building ecosystem together under one roof – from building materials, facades, and structural systems to construction technology, offsite manufacturing, interior products and professional services.
The event is designed for professionals who specify, procure and build: architects, building designers, developers, project managers, builders, consultants and trade contractors working across residential and commercial projects throughout the state.
The conference programme will feature keynotes, panels and technical sessions covering topics such as housing delivery, new construction methods, emerging design trends, building technology and the future of development across Queensland.
Exhibitor Opportunities Now Open
Exhibition space for the launch edition is now available, with early participants securing priority floor positioning and visibility across the event’s marketing campaign. Companies supplying products or services to the construction and development sectors are invited to participate.
